To enable access to PMX On The Go in Security Console – User Role Additional Access 

 

Note: You must have Modify Roles permissions to specify additional access for a user role.  

 

To specify additional access (for PMX On The Go) for a user role, follow these steps:

 

1. Go to Roles

2. In the Database field, select the database that contains the role for which you want to specify additional access.

3. In the left panel, select the role for which you want to specify additional access.

4.   In the right panel, click Additional Access.

5. To filter or sort the functions by name, description, or application, use the filter fields in the header row of the grid. For example, to enable PMX On The Go, enter Mobile in the Name filter field.

6. Select the check box in the Access column.

7. Click Save.

 

Note: If you had previously activated Global Access (checkbox) to the Additional Access tab, then no further action should be needed to enable access to the PMX On The Go application. 

 

 

 

FAQ's

 

Q. Are there steps I must do to activate the mobile app for my business? 

A. Client will need to assign access within MRI's Security Console. An 'Additional Access' option is available called MOBILEACCESS - Allow Access to Mobile Application. The option must be selected for users to log in. 

 

Q. Are the standard security features used with the mobile app? 

A. All PMX Security Console layers are applied within the mobile app. 

 

Q. Can I update the records inside the app?

A. The initial release does not allow updating of records. This will be considered for a future release. 

 

Q. How is sensitive data managed?

A. Highly sensitive data like Identification Numbers and Bank Account Numbers are currently not available in the app. 

 

Q. Is data stored on the device using the app? 

A. PMX data is not stored locally on the mobile device. 

 

Q. Can all clients download and use the app? 

A. The app is now accessible to users within the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and the United Kingdom. 

 

Q. What authentication is used on the app? 

A. Standard MRI authentication via Welcome front end. After the user selects the region they wish to connect to, the app will open the device's browser to send the user through their typical MRI Welcome login flow. This may involve specifying client ids or federated identity providers, as needed, just as they do normally. 

 

Q. Will on-premise clients be able to use the app? 

A. The PMX On the Go app is only available to MRI Cloud clients. 

 

Q. What PMX version do MRI Cloud clients have to be on? 

A. MRI Cloud clients must be on version X.5.12.0 or greater. All MRI Cloud clients in core environments were upgraded to version X.5.12.0 on October 7, 2023. Note that some Dedicated MRI Cloud clients may be on an older version and will not be able to utilize the app until they have upgraded to X.5.12.0 or greater.

 

Q. Will custom fields be available on the app?  

A. Custom fields will not display anywhere within the mobile app. There are currently no plans to allow customization of the screens within the app. 

 

Q. Does the Alternate Terminology (SWAPNAME) functionality work in the app? 

A. This functionality did not make the initial app version and will be available in a future release.

 

Q. Does the app translate to other languages? 

A. The initial release of the app does not have the functionality to display in different languages. This is a future enhancement. 

 

Q. Will the app format dates and numbers based on my phone settings? 

A. With the initial release of the app, the functionality was not completed at release time. This functionality is expected in a future release. Once available, the app will adjust based on the phone or tablet settings for date and number format. 

 

Q. Will the app be available for clients in the new Canadian data center? 

A. All North America clients should select North America as their environment when logging into the mobile app. After authenticating, the app will route them to the Canadian data center. 

 

Q. How does the app know what data center and database to use? 

A. Users will select the regional data center upon opening the app. Once selected, the app will use our standard Welcome/OKTA front end and redirect them as appropriate based on their selections. Once authenticated, the app will provide a database selection list. 

 

Q. What data is available for the Resident, Lease and Vendor tiles? 

A. Almost all Resident, Lease and Vendor data (and their related tables) is available in the app. There were some related tables that were not cleared for initial release and are expected to be in the next version of the app. 

 

Q. If you are not licensed for a specific application, will the option for Resident, Lease, or Vendor be disabled or hidden? 

A. No, the initial release will show all three tiles regardless of their license. Search results will only return data that is available.
